FAQs

My child is bright but struggles with reasoning questions. Is this normal?

Yes. Many academically able children find Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning challenging at first because they haven't been taught how to approach these question types. With the right strategies and practice, confidence and performance often improve quickly.

When should my child start preparing for the 11+?

The earlier strong foundations are built, the better. Effective preparation isn't about rushing into practice papers—it's about developing the reasoning skills that underpin success in the exam.

My child keeps running out of time. How can this be improved?

Timing is rarely just a speed issue. Children who understand question types and recognise patterns quickly work more efficiently and make better decisions under pressure. Confidence leads to improved timing.

What makes your approach different?

I focus on understanding before speed. Children learn how to identify patterns, apply strategies and approach unfamiliar questions confidently. Once the foundations are secure, accuracy and timing improve naturally.

Do you prepare children for GL and CEM style exams?

Yes. My teaching develops the core reasoning skills needed across both GL and CEM assessments, ensuring children are prepared for a wide range of question types and exam formats.

What do you offer?

I offer weekly online group classes through a monthly subscription, designed to build strong foundations in Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. I also run specialist 11+ masterclasses once per term, focusing on key skills, exam techniques and common areas of difficulty. All sessions are designed to help children become confident, independent and well-prepared for GL and CEM-style exams.
